Cahors in southwest France is the origin of the Malbec grape, now more commonly associated with Argentina.
The red wines from this region are typically robust, earthy and tannic, often needing years to show their best, so we were delighted to discover this pair of delicious, approachable yet characterful and extremely well-priced wines from the 21 hectare
Chateau de Hauterive which has been in the hands of the Filhol family since 1885. Today Gilles and Dominique are at the helm of the estate.
