Originally from Sheffield.... Winemaker Nicola Thornton decided she had an opportunity to make a difference and help Spanish farmers make a good living, while also creating relationships for the farmers to work with smaller, independent winemakers who wanted to produce wines that were a true expression of time and place. Spanish Palate was born in 2016.
We’re beginning our collaboration with one of her own creations; Botas de Barro, literally ‘dirty boots’, which is an homage to the generations of farmers that have tended the treasured old vines of their regions.
60+ year old bush vines, planted in limestone rich, pebbly soils, cool ferment, no oak.
Crisp, highly aromatic with intense lime and tropical notes!
